My Fur Children

Another snow day today! These kids are just having the best year ever! And, of course, I just received the message from my husband that tomorrow will be yet ANOTHER snow day. Whoop. ;)

So, like any good mother, I sent my Boo Bear out this morning to play in true "Christmas Story" fashion. He wasn't too happy about the face mask. What can I say? I worry.

While he's out rolling around in the snow, I want to introduce you to my fur babies! We'll start with our miniature dachshund Wastegate. The story on his name is for another day.

Yes, his tongue is always like that.

He's a good baby. Not a lot going on inside that head other than "sleep!" "eat!" "sleep!" "poop!" "sleep!" and so on... But that's why we love him! He's such a sweetie and loves kids.

Why are you bothering me? Is it poop time or eat time?

Is that a camera or my next meal?

Now on to our Plott Hound, Charlee. Our angel with fur. She has eyes that can see into your soul, and I swear this dog senses every emotion.
She's not too happy about me taking pictures during her nap time.

Josh often jokes that if she were a woman he'd marry her. I reeeeeaaaaally don't think he's kidding. Those two are inseparable.

Angel Eyes

At this point she's pretty annoyed with me, so I leave her alone.

Both of our babies are rescues and we encourage everyone to do the same. Adopt! Don't shop!

A Wintery West Virginia

It's been a hectic few weeks! Hectic but good.

I'm adjusting to being a stay-at-home mom again. I love it. I have no doubt that this is God's will because my sweet boy has come up to me almost every day and thanked me for staying home with him. I know my hubby appreciates the clean home he gets to come home to again as well. ;)

This past weekend was my best friend's birthday, and my hubby surprised with tickets to spend the weekend in Georgia with her. It was amazing. It felt good to be home if only for a couple days.

So, how about this weather!? Right now the snow is swirling outside and we have about 4 inches with who knows how many to go! So, in honor of all things Polar Vortex, I am going to post my three favorite photos from this winter season that I've taken so far. All three taken from my kitchen window!

A couple weeks ago we experienced ice. INSIDE. It coated many of our windows. Our house is extremely old, so it's hard to keep the cold out. Thankfully, it was pretty to look at!

This little guy was looking for some shelter from the wind for a while. It was a very hard shot to get. He was a fluttery thing.

This last one I just took this morning. somewhere in the last week when the weather warmed up again, a spider made the window it's new home. To me this is such a pretty shot. I love how it shows the strength of the web. I didn't even know it was there until it was covered in snow! For some reason I can't make it any bigger. I'm so mad! It's one of my favorites! :(

 It's been a pretty winter. :)

“Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!… He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes. He casts forth His ice as fragments, Who can stand before His cold? He sends forth His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.” ~Psalm 147:12-18

Bring Your Boo Bear To Work Day

Today my poor Boo Bear had to come to work with me. :( Life is hard.

Just kidding; we have fun. ;)

Not long after we got there it started to snow and, like every 7 year-old, he stared outside in fascination like he'd never seen it before.

ANNNNNND then he suckered me into buying him these...

Love days like this when he can follow me around like my own personal ray of sunshine. Everything is better with him.

After our day was done, We came home to a little bit of powder on our deck.

Looks like tiny grains of sugar. Makes me hungry.

Rainy Sunday

I hope everyone is as excited about my photo blog as I am! Woohoo!
The point of this blog is meant to be a way for family and friends to keep up with our ever-moving family. Facebook is becoming wearisome, and I don't want to keep pushing photos on people who aren't interested. Instead, I want to share the more intimate moments with those that choose to share in our experiences. :)

Today was rainy... gloomy... beautiful.

Does anyone else love rainy Sundays as much as I do?

These are the days I want to just curl up on the couch and play Candy Crush for HOURS. OR... do something more productive like read a book. Like my son did.

Does a mama's heart good. :)

The puppies did a lot of this

I, on the other hand, played Candy Crush for hours.
